Preston Roberts of Mountain Men fame has died. A singer and guitarist, Johnson is considered to be one of the greatest blues performers of all time. At the age of 27, Robert Johnson died near Greenwood, Mississippi. Many blues historians say that this is just another myth surrounding Johnson. Columbia later issued the box set Robert Johnson: The Complete Recordings (1990). In February 1929, Robert Johnson married sixteen-year-old Virginia Travis, who later died in childbirth. And that claim certainly has some backing . Johnson founded Black Entertainment Television (BET) in 1979 with his wife, Sheila. Robert L. Johnson was born on April 8, 1946, in Hickory, Mississippi. The couple moved to Clarksdale, Mississippi a year later. Robert Johnson mysteriously died in Greenwood, Mississippi on Aug. 16, 1938, but his death certificate didn’t list a cause. Musician Robert Johnson was born on May 8, 1911, in Hazlehurst, Mississippi. Robert married Caletta Craft in May 1931. And he died while I was hangin his guitar on the wall. After Caletta died in childbirth, Robert became a walking musician. Robert Leroy Johnson was a blues singer and musician. Roberts, 60, best known for his small role on the History Channel show, had been battling cancer. Johnson was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in its inaugural class (1980), and he became a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. He fathered a child with Vergie Mae Smith while in Martinsville.
